Two Bank Robbery Suspects Held in San Jose

A robbery was reported at the Wells Fargo bank in San Jose on Monday afternoon resulting in a huge loss in money, which was later recovered. The San Jose police have arrested two men in connection with the robbery and also seized two guns from the suspects.

‘Bold Act’ fails

Two men entered the Wells Fargo bank in broad daylight at about 1:15 pm, loaded with guns and started demanding cash. They later took some amount of money, which was undiclosed from the bank and fled. The police, based on witnesses’ description, quickly caught one of the suspects on the street near the Strip mall which also has a bank near Union Avenue and Camden. The second man was believed to have gotten away with the cash.

Such an incident of robbing a bank in daylight in a busy area could prove dangerous because of which six schools and a school district office in the near-by area were asked to lock down and issued shelter-in-place orders when the hunt for the suspects was going on. A car suspected to have been a part of the bank robbery was spotted later on Interstate 880. The police pulled over the car at the Northbound Brokaw Road exit which is about 10 miles away from where the robbery took place. This incident took place at about 2:30 pm.

Very soon, the next suspect was caught without any incident. About twelve CHP and San Jose police cars could be seen in the off-ramp area, where the police were examining a golden colored sedan. One of the suspect possessed a gun and the car also revealed a second firearm. The money was recovered from the second suspect and later returned to the bank. The off-ramp opened to public after 4 pm. The lock down and shelter-in-place orders in schools were also lifted after 3 pm. The police are yet to identify the suspects.
