The sole survivor of the Bologna murder case that took place in June 2008, identified the killer in a federal court. Andrew Bologna, who is now 21 years old, was 18 when his two brothers and his father were shot dead while they were travelling in a Honda Civic in San Francisco. 25 year old Edwin Ramos has been identified as the man who shot Andrew’s father and siblings.
Ramos Charged with Murder and Attempt to Murder
Ramos has pleaded guilty to murder and attempt to murder. He, along with his gang, was looking for revenge as one of their members had been shot the same day they murdered members of the Bologna family. They confused the Bologna family with rival gang members and started shooting at them. Bologna’s Honda was blocked by Ramos’s Chrysler before the attack, according to prosecutors.
Young Andrew Bologna Describes the Incident in Court
Andrew Bologna described the incident in detail. He was sitting in the back seat of the car when Ramos blocked the way. Andrew added that the accused was giving a mean look to them initially. He pulled his gun out and shot the window first. Andrew could hear a number of gun shots after that and everything happened quite fast. The surviving son along with his mother broke down into tears in court.
Andrew stated that neither he nor any of his family members knew the man who was firing at them. Defense lawyer claimed that it was not Ramos who fired. He stated that another member of Ramos’ gang who was sitting inside the car committed the crime. Ramos had little idea regarding what was happening.
