Three suspects in a triple shooting in San Francisco’s Mission District were arrested early Tuesday after their fleeing car hit a police cruiser. The shooting occurred at 3:50 a.m. at 16th street and Rondel Place, near the 16th Street Mission BART station, when three men in a car tried to rob three other men on the street. A 46-year old man was shot in the torso and the two ages 40 and 47 were shot in their legs. All three victims were then transported to the hospital, one of the victims at the time was suffering life-threatening injuries while the other two had minor ones.
After the shooting officers spotted a black Mercedes-Benz station wagon which they believed was connected to the shooting. A car chase soon began in the Bayview District, when the suspect’s station wagon hit two parked cars and backed into a police cruiser. Two guns were found in the station wagon. All three suspects have been arrested on suspicion of several felonies, including attempted murder and illegal gun possession.
