In Santa Cruz, a recent incident of road rage led to shooting. Police in Santa Cruz are making requests to the public to come forward to locate and identify the driver of a car that shot at two other drivers in an incident of road rage. Based on the reports registered, the suspect approached the other truck and rear-ended it. After this, he shot one round at around 4:15 am.
The incident
The incident took place on the 9th of July 2012 when the victims, a man and his wife, were traveling on Highway One. The couple made a stop at the Emeline off-Ramp located on the highway, between a white Ford Mustang and a Chevy Camaro. According to the information provided by the victims to the police, the driver of the Camaro yelled something to the other driver in the Ford Mustang and drove off. It was at this time, that the driver of the Mustang smashed into the couple’s car. Right before the Mustang driver could get away, he fired one round into the rear window of the couple’s truck. Based on reports, it was found that there were no injuries during the firing.

Based on a report made by a Santa Cruz police official, it is believed that the drivers of the Ford Mustang and the Camaro got into an altercation before crashing into the truck. It was after this crash that the shooting took place. Police are still determining the motive behind the incident. According to police reports, the shooter was a bald, white male. Police officials are on the look out for a white Ford Mustang with damage on the front end.
