A Florida father who beat his 11-year-old son’s alleged molester unconscious before calling 911 told CNN that his son is a hero and that the boy is the only reason the man is alive.
The father of the victim, Jason Browning attacked 18-year-old, Raymond Frolander, after he walked into a bedroom of the Daytona Beach home and found him sexually assaulting the boy on July 18.
Upon arriving home, Browning believed that the look on Fronlander’s face made him believe something was wrong. Browning says Frolander’s pants fell down to his ankles and nothing else needed to be said when he saw the exposed genitals.
The 11-year-old told authorities that Frolander had performed oral sex on him and instructed the boy to fondle him. The boy also mentioned that Frolander began abusing him a few years ago.
According to the Browning he grabbed a butcher knife from the kitchen and was going to kill Frolander when his son stepped in front of him and stopped him. Frolander who is being held in Volusia County Jail, without bond, faces a charge of sexual battery of a child.
The right of self-dense in Florida entitles you to use force to stop an attack on yourself or another person, including deadly force to prevent imminent death, great bodily harm, or “the imminent commission of a forcible felony.” Browing has not been charged.
Browning reportedly posted a photo on Facebook saying he needed $1 million to pay for the boy’s care after the assault. He also set up a GoFundMe page. The GoFundMe link on the Facebook page directed visitors to a page asking for help saving a mother of four from being evicted. Many have expressed concern that the victim could suffer additional psychological stress as a result of his father’s actions.
