DUI Checkpoints (St. Patrick’s Day) – Bay Area
It’s time for St. Patrick’s Day and that also means it’s time for DUI checkpoints in the Bay Area.
North California DUI Checkpoints:
San Francisco – Areas of the City – 6:00 pm – 2:00am (March 15/16th)
San Rafael – Areas of the City – 6:00pm – 2:00am (March 16th)
Novato –Areas of the City – 6:00pm – 2:00am (March 16th)
Lodi- Areas of the City – 6:30pm – 2:30am (March 16th)
Modesto – Areas of the City – 6:30pm – 2:30am (March 16th)
San Jose – – Areas of the City – 6:30pm – 2:30am (March 16th)
DUI Checkpoints for Friday March 15th Released:
Redlands – Set to run from 10:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of Colton Avenue west of Texas Street.
Poway – Set to run from 7:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. at an undisclosed location.
Newhall – Set to run from 6:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. at an undisclosed location.
Ontario – Set to run from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. at an undisclosed location.
Riverside – Set to run from 6:00 p.m. to midnight at an undisclosed location.
Modesto – Set to run from 9:30 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. at an undisclosed location.
Drivers caught driving impaired could face jail time, license suspension and insurance premium increases, in addition to fines, fees, DUI classes and other expenses that can exceed $10,000.
On average, a person is killed in a drunk-driving crash every 51 minutes in the United States. The majority of those crashes involve drivers who have a .15 percent BAC or higher, almost twice legal limit of .08 percent. More than 700 people have been killed in the nation in drunk-driving crashes during St. Patrick’s Day holidays from 2006 to 2010.
